Sesame Ahi Tuna Salad

~ Sesame Crusted Seared Ahi Tuna ‘Sushi’ Salad with Wasabi Vinaigrette ~

This heavenly salad was inspired by the flavors of a meal favorite, sushi! This simple, yet fancy low-carb meal is a perfect lunchtime meal that will keep you filled and will remind you of eating sushi. It is full of flavor and when paired with one of our favorite sweet wines, Stella Rosa Tropical Mango, you will surely be transported to a tropical heaven.

~Ingredients~

Servings: 4

Wasabi Vinaigrette:

1 tsp. wasabi paste

2 tbsp. rice wine vinegar

2 tbsp. oil

1 tbsp. soy sauce

1 tbsp. mirin

1 tsp. ginger, grated

Sesame Crusted Tuna:

1 tbsp. oil

1 lb. ahi tuna

2 tbsp. black sesame seeds

2 tbsp. white sesame seeds

1 Bottle of Stella Rosa Tropical Mango

Salad:

6 cups salad greens

1 cup cooked quinoa (optional)

A handful of sliced almonds

1/2 cup edamame

1/2 cup clementine slices

1 cup cherry tomatoes

1 cup cucumber

2 cups crispy rice noodles

~Directions~

Wasabi Vinaigrette:

  1. Mix everything well.

Sesame Crusted Tuna:

  1. Heat the oil in a pan over medium-high heat.
  2. Press the sesame seeds into the tuna on all sides and place the tuna in the pan and sear for about 1-2 minutes per side or to the desired level of doneness before setting aside for a few minutes and slice.

Salad:

  1. Arrange or toss everything and enjoy with a glass of Stella Rosa Tropical Mango!
